Having been playing the game for over 30-years and dedicated to teaching for over 20, I have encountered a myriad of different students and swings and learned there isn’t one right technique or mindset to play successful golf.
Hailing from upstate New York, I developed an early and deep appreciation for agreeable weather; eventually attending the PGA’s PGM (Professional Golf Management) Program at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina before settling in Redding, CA in 2004.
Years of coaching in Redding, and caddying at the world-renowned Bandon Dunes have allowed me to witness innumerable swings and learn how to derive the best from my students.
My philosophy is simple: develop the basic fundamentals of setup, rotation/extension/flexion, and weight transfer, then go practice and play. The motion of the swing is like a martial art, it takes repetitive movement to establish pathways in the brain. Once established, you’ll never forget how to swing a golf club. Just like riding a bike or reading a book.
Golf is a gift to all those who play and I am honored to help grow the game for anyone wanting to enjoy this great tradition here at Club Tucker.
